In this originally written, narrator-led piece, Connie turns sixteen and her uncle Ford is horrified to learn she isn’t excited about his Shakespeare birthday gift. He responds by guiding her through the Bard’s most memorable scenes — comedic, emotional, and everything between — sprinkling in all the Shakespearean sayings she unknowingly uses every day. Connie resists, naturally, but the ending suggests Ford may have won her over after all.
